Introduction to iPad: (Recommended for Senior Citizens)
In this class we will begin with the basics, displaying the functionality of each button. navigate through your settings and introduce some tips and tricks for your device. We will learn how to compose an email and purchase an app. We will also dive into using some of the apps that come with your iPad. Some other paid and free apps will be introduced that will be sure to make your already busy life a little easier. Please bring your iPad with you and update your operating system to iOS 8.
In this class we will first review the more important items in your SETTINGS. Then we will begin to use your apps in a productive way, like using “reminders” to make and share a grocery list with others in your home and linking calendars so that all your family members see the same calendar. We will also spend some time learning how to manage multiple iDevices in the same household.

What is a dumbphone? It is a traditional cellphone with no internet access and no data plan. Not quite ready to take the smartphone leap? Well, hold off a little while longer! Did you know that your "dumbphone" can do many amazing things? Let me show you how to get: directions, definitions, local businesses (with addresses and phone numbers), translations and so much more. You can also update your Facebook and Twitter! Learn how to make your dumb phone smarter than ever! Teens and kids welcome!
Facebook for Beginners: (Designed for Senior Citizens)
It’s never too late to learn about technology! Since everyone else seems to be using Facebook, learn how to keep up with family members and old friends using this powerful and popular social network. Participants will begin with creating a Facebook account and focusing on privacy settings. Next, participants will be introduced to basic Facebook search, navigation, tagging, commenting and “liking.” Finally, participants will post a status and photo to their own Facebook page.
Participants should already have an email account (gmail is suggested). While a few laptops will be available for use, please try to bring your own.
For Kids (Recommended Ages 8-15): How to Make a Movie Using Just an iPod Touch or iPhone
This series will begin with the basics of camera angles and their effects and introduction of various apps for capturing cool photos, videos and sounds. Participants will then be introduced to the following terms and techniques: Basic sound editing, video editing and splicing, voiceover, transitions, basic photo editing and more. Finally, participants will learn how to post their final product, a short film, to YouTube.
